9two5...

SO just how fulfilling is the nine to five...
I mean, as I sit here working and blogging (and looking at my 3 nearest clocks that all have a different time)..I find myself contemplating other ways to invest my time and energies.
What would I be doing if I didn't have a typical day shift, marketing job?
  • Baking...I love baking and I have a huge sweet tooth (chocolate is the death of me!)
  • Volunteering at a shelter/homeless community...I would love to spend my day aiding those in need, teaching skills to becoming self sufficient again.
  • Babysitting- contrary to all the evils of kids..I love babysitting..kids are my passion and I could be around them all day long (lookout for my childcare center coming in 2yrs..of the chains NC!)
  • Teaching an aerobic dance class for senior citizens...hey older folks can groove, and they have alot of fun keeping in shape! I see too many teenyboppers shaking 24-7 when they don't need to be...not to mention how retarded the music video "ghetto girl shakum" has become...I'd like to change the scene for a bit.
  • Teaching a course for women on how to walk in heels...OKAY pet peeve guys!!! It kills me..women around uptown Charlotte who look fresh to death, and can't walk a lick in these heels. PRACTICE!!! Unless you are Ms. Jay who has been struttin' since birth...you need to practice. There is a skill to making heels sexy..and once you get it you'll look great no matter what size heel ;)
  • Travelling...omg can I do some blogging in Spanish..I mean from South America! I have some crazy theories that I would love to travel and research. Not to mention visiting the parents and friends in Cali more often :)
  • Did I mention baking...just checking!
I could go on forever, but reality sets in that I am at a 9-5 and need to focus on working. Don't get me wrong, I like what I do and I couldn't ask for crazier, funnier, more caring co-workers. It'll happen one day no doubt..this diva has way to much to give back, and frankly my office chair and desk space can't handle it all. But in the meantime...i'll keep grinding away, and behind the scenes I'll keep dreaming of what my anti 9-5 will look like.

Sky is the Limit!

Tell me..what is your Anti 9-5 (or 8-4 or 3rd shift...what else would you love to do?)

  1. I would travel the world... Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, South America... just go abroad and work in hospitals as a volunteer. After a few months of that I would come back and work on becoming an astronaut...

  2. For me it is a foregone conclusion that my future anti 9-5 includes lots and lots of money, because I would need the ability to search the world over for "faith" & "honor", starting right in my back yard; and when found, I would change the lives of the possessors forever (of course for the better). Why these two attributes in particular: Because they don't discriminate. You can find them among the richest of the rich or in the poorest of the poor. You can find them on Whiteville Avenue, Chocolate City Blvd., Latina Lane, in joy; in pain... I just love this state of "mynd"! that one can be regal in their stance and gait because They know who they are, even if you don't. And they know whose they are, even if you won't. To be able to reward those who know that "they" are not their circumstances, would be my full-time "work" (not job), but "life-work" if you will. And I would get up early and go to bed late doing it.
